It's Showtime, Folks!

踏破铁鞋无觅处, 得来全不费工夫

Mentioned in this previous posting over on my main blog that I didn't get to order Soul of Chogokin The Big O from online stores, but I never imagined that there was one in my local toy store. ^^

Right that night I got a call from Momotoys that the store has one unit of this Chogokin figure, which I picked up right away yesterday.

It's so good to have friend who watch over what you want, isn't? ^^

I must say, I have a wrong perception about Soul of Chogokin releases. ^^; I used to think that all of them have really huge boxes to show their exclusiveness. So when I got The Big O, I was quite surprised at how small it is.

Or maybe "compact" is a better word XD

A little shorter than the box of S.I.C. Kamen Rider Gaoh and Kintaros Imagin, same width as HG 1/144 Arios.

Well, thank goodness for that actually. Because any larger box size is going to be like rubbing salt on the storage crisis in my room right now.

With HGUC Kshatriya coming in soon some more. ^^;

But that's not really on my mind right now when I'm thinking more on this:

Spent some time re-watching "The Big O" last night ^^

Anyway, Soul of Chogokin The Big O isn't complete without the expansion set which is "evilly" labeled as a Tamashii Web Shop limited release. ^^; In the past, that bugged me a lot, but Momotoys, the store where I bought The Big O is able to bring in such limited stuff.

Right now, they have the event limited Robot Damashii [Side MS] 00 Gundam Trans-Am Mode, Exia R2 Conversion Set in store.

It's being long enough I see-yes-touch-no on those limited items, now I can finally own a few of the ones I like. ^^ Same for folks in Kuching who seem to be missing out on a lot of good stuff all the time. If you're interested to check out what limited stuff you can get from Momotoys, check out the store, which is situated next to the cinema in The Spring Shopping Complex, or contact:

Prelude to Singapore Trip

Revisiting after 4 years

I'll be in Singapore for three days for the Nuffnang Dotcom's first ever Asia-Pacific Blog Awards - actually the award will just be tomorrow, but I get the free accommodation of another two days after that, so an "emergency" vacation it is then. XD

This is going to be my first ever trip to a foreign land alone.

The timing of the trip isn't the best for me right now actually, as the workload I'm having is pretty hard in permitting me to enjoy the trip, but being a vacation I never had for quite a long while already, I seriously don't want to drag the shadow from my workplace to Singapore to haunt me there.

I'm feeling adventurous enough to attempt another last-minute-work-submission next week (Oh boy!) ^^;

I was in Singapore some 4 years ago for an intensive debate training with several of my friends. Being an advanced country, I'm sure Singapore right now isn't going to be the same as I remembered back then.

A very relaxed cat I photographed 4 years back. I wonder if he's doing well right now. ^^

I have no idea what to expect actually ^^

I just hope it won't rain (much) there in Singapore during my stay. I'm the type that likes to walk around (almost) mindlessly to discover my own treasure. ^^ See things here and there at my own pacing is the best way for me to relax.

Preparation so far:

Luggage - half OK.

Laptop - for working blogging

Pen drive - for working storing taken picture.

Money, passport & flight pass

Miyuki-san

Just kidding. XD

It's going to be during the award dinner tomorrow night at this time. It's pretty awesome to think about how everything is coming to pass after these few weeks of anticipation. Time really flies, in a rather scary way for me ^^;

1/100 Astray Red Frame Part 9

Watch my body

Continue from yesterday, assembling components of the upper body for 1/100 Astray Red Frame now:

Parts for the arm.

Has details for the shoulder joint, upper arm and forearm.

Very wide articulation range for the arm. There's a separate joint for the wrist, so it can bend a much wider range as compared to most other Gunplas that only rely on the ball-type joint of the wrist.

Parts for the body and backpack.

In before putting on the armors and backpack.

With armors and backpack on. As you can see, Bandai has designed details precisely for parts that might be exposed; parts that would be covered up are plain. ^^;

Since the backpack can be adjusted, plenty of details on the back can be seen.

The completed upper body before the head.

Those two large holes are for the beam sabers - probably the largest beam saber storage racks I've seen so far. ^^

Parts for the shield.

A standard shield used by many Gundam SEED era's Gundam like Strike, Duel and Astray Blue Frame.

Parts for the other weapons and hand units. No assembly required for the beam sabers actually. ^^

All the completed weapons, including the signature katana Gerbera Straight done a long time ago.

Parts for the head.

Head completed.

A quick view on the completed model.

One of the features of Astray Red Frame: backpack can be detached from the back to sit on the tail.

Applying the clear sticker onto the left shoulder armor and shield.

Astray Red Frame completed! ^^

More images of this kit in the next review.
