The fun assembly of the kit as mentioned in the previous posting is part of the kiddy appeals to the target audience of "Keroro Gunsou" I think. There's no doubt that it's an important merchandising factor, but I do believe the kit can appeal to experience modelers as well, as the level of mechanical details designed into the kit is very impressive. ^^

If fun of assembly and playability (transformation and the final gattai) are the most important selling points of this kit, the details would seem quite excessive, as even parts which are not obviously visible on the completed model, like the sole, interior of the body and skirt armors are designed with a lot of line details. Ignoring these details won't cause any harm to the overall playability, but for modelers looking beyond those two points, working on all the details to give Keroro Robo Mk-II a much higher finished look would be a worthy challenge, and a fun one too. ^^ Tons of paint work and panel lining are required to realize those details, but looking at the completed model, I do feel that all the work is well worth the effort. Painting those large white areas on the shoulder and knee wings weren't easy, as with the shoulder vents and shield, but they look really good on the finished model. ^^

Overall, I think Keroro Robo Mk-II is comparable to a High Grade Gunpla kit. As a matter of fact, parts like the thrusters, side panels, control pod and its docking area on top the body, even the sticker markings bear more elaborate mechanical details than some of the HG kits I have. Some of its components like the shoulder and hip joints move much better in comparison too. ^^ At the same time, the amount of paint work and detailing required is significantly higher as well. ^^; In the end, everything balanced out I suppose. XD
