HG 1/100 Gundam Heavyarms Custom Part 5

The forgotten white and gray

Continuing the work on HG 1/100 Gundam Heavyarms Custom after Part 4, with just a few more components to go. ^^

I completely overlooked the need to paint the collar and neck area white when going through the part count in Part 3. ^^;

Along with the heels, the collar and neck area on the torso parts are painted white using White Surfacer from Mr. Hobby.

The narrow slits between the front and rear foot should be painted gray to indicate that they are part of the joint, even though they are obviously non-functional. ^^

The targeted areas are painted using Mr. Gundam Color UG09 MS Gray Zeon Semi Gloss.

Since the slits are too narrow for an normal knife to reach in, spilled over gray paint around the area is scratched away using a sharpened toothpick instead.

(Left) Since I don't have any amazing idea for the thrusters, I just painted them black using Gundam Marker. ^^
(Right) With excess black paint around the thruster area rubbed away using cotton swab soaked with acrylic thinner.

Simple panel lining for the painted heels to complete the work. ^^

Simple panel lining for the rest of the leg parts.

Tiny protruding dots on the missile pod cover pieces.

The panel lining work is repeated on parts from the other leg.

Forgot to include the wrist block - with the protruding joint area to be painted gray in Part 3. ^^;

The wrist blocks, as well as the semi-arc around the missile pod area on the shoulders are painted gray using Mr. Gundam Color UG09 MS Gray Zeon Semi Gloss.

The border between the wrist block and forearm is painted black using normal marker to emphasize the gaps' appearance.

The two chest panels are detailed using a combination of normal panel liner and Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black).

Simple panel lining for the white collar and neck area after the paint has dried.

Test fitting the detailed parts to see how the torso would turn out when assembled. ^^

The innermost area of the shoulder vents are painted black using normal marker.

A combination of normal panel liner and Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black) is used to detail the "grilles" on the rear vents.

Realizing that they are actually extension of the shoulder block, the shoulder panels' joints are painted dark gray using Gundam Marker from the Gundam SEED Basic Set.

Very simple panel lining for the slits on top the panels.

Test fitting the detailed parts to see how the shoulder missile pod would turn out when assembled. ^^

Simple panel lining for the rest of the arm and shoulder parts.

Done with this batch of painting and detailing, only the head remains before the entire work is done. ^^
