MG V Gundam Ver. Ka Part 3

Not so blue, not so brown

Master Grade V2 Gundam Ver. Ka just came out for your information. ^^

Concentrating all effort on painting the three 1/100 scale figurines in V Gundam Ver. Ka after the work in Part 2. ^^

Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black) is used to highlight the molded details on the three white parts.

With excessive panel liner solution rubbed away using cotton swab soaked with thinner, and with additional line details added the usual way. ^^

Rewatched a few episodes of "MS Victory Gundam" briefly to get an idea of the colors needed for Marbet Fingerhat's pilot suit. ^^

While the part design is practically the same, you can indeed tell the difference between Uso and Marbet.
The "curves" are in the details. No, the details are in the curves. ^o^

Normal panel liner is used to highlight the line details before the paintwork.

(Left) For Uso, the front half of the helmet and shoulder patches are painted gray using Mr. Gundam Color UG09 MS Gray Zeon Semi Gloss.
(Right) The seat strap is painted yellow using Mr. Color 109 Character Yellow.

Similar paint work is applied to Marbet, except her helmet and shoulder pataches are painted using Gaia Color 047 Clear Purple (previously used for the broom bristles of 1/1 HoiHoi-san) instead.
Not following the suit design observed in the screenshots from the anime as shown earlier on, both of Marbet's shoulder pads are painted purple instead of just the one of the right side to make the color stand out even more inside the cockpit when the model is assembled later on. ^^

Some of the excessive paint on the parts is carefully scratched away using a knife when the paint has dried; some is covered up by reapplying panel lines over the molded details.

The visors are painted metallic green using normal pen.

For the standing figurine of Uso, the paint work begins with Mr. Color 51 Flesh Semi Gloss for the face and hands.

The collar and the opening section of the jacket is painted yellow using Gundam Marker.
Officially, just the collar area needs to be painted. I over-painted this color on the figurine to make Uso's jacket appear thicker.

The jacket's edges, especially the sleeves are repanel-lined to highlight their details.

Light blue for the jacket came from a mixture of Gundam Marker Blue and Gundam Marker White.

Haro is painted using Mr. Color 175 Fluorescent Green Flat.

Uso's pants are painted using Gundam Marker Dark Gray from the Gundam SEED set.
This marker was heavily featured in the recent work on High Grade 1/144 scale Gundam Barbatos. ^^

Uso's shoes are painted black using normal marker.

Uso's brown hair is in fact not brown but orange, ...

... painted using Yosogo Permanent Marker Orange.
The color appears as brown after the part is repeatedly painted using the same marker a couple of times. ^^

Done with the paint work on the three figurines and parts identified in Part 2, the bulk of the remaining work would be to panel line parts from various components. The detailing needed seems "refreshingly" simple for a Master Grade kit, but the lightweight workload seems absolutely fitting for the holiday season. ^^
