The first Sci-fi Revoltech review of the year is coincidently the first for the Revoltech series altogether. ^^;
Due to my slow speed in doing my reviews, the entire franchise seems to have been negelcted on my blog. ^^;

One of the Revoltech series' main attractions to me is its inclusion of some really weird releases, particularly in the Sci-fi Revoltech sub-series. For this particular figure, the T-Rex, while it's just one of the many weird releases in the series, it's clearly the most unique action figure to be reviewed on this blog so far this year. ^^
As the main character (ha! ^^) from "The Lost World" (1997), the T-Rex certainly deserves an action figure release. Given that it's not a unique creature that was designed just for said movie, I'm pretty sure there are other versions of T-Rex action figures out there, with some you can get from the kids' section in large departmental stores. XD On a separate note, while I do enjoy "The Lost World", the T-Rex is not the most significant part of that movie in my opinion, and it's definitely not important enough for me that I need to go and get myself an action figure of the main dinosaur. ^^

The main attractions of this Sci-fi Revoltech release to me then, are the overall detailing of the figure, and the novelty of seeing Revoltech joints being used on a completely non-humanoid "character". ^^ Alien Queen reviewed more than a year ago was the last one from that "category" that I can remember of right now. The respective beast mode of Blight, and Windrazor from "Transformers: Prime - Beast Hunters" Cyberverse Legion Class line can be classified as non-humanoid in nature, but that argument is quite a stretch since many of their beast mode joints are being used in robot (humanoid) mode anyway. ^^;
All in all, since the focus is on how special the design is for this special "character", this is going to be a very special review series. XD

Yeah! That's the most epic scene of all Jurassic movie! A very unusual figure and I would say the most nimble T-Rex figure so far.

A very unusual figure this is indeed. ^^ There are many monster-type action figures for collectors from Kaiyodo. Besides this T-Rex, the Yamaguchi line has quite a few interesting releases. ^^
