BB Senshi Sangokuden Shin Enjutsu Zssa Part 5

New method, new paint

After silver and gun metal in the previous posting, another important color needed by BB Senshi Sangokuden Shin Enjutsu Zssa, one which is much harder to paint will be featured in this batch of work. ^^

Parts featuring details to be painted in metallic green.

Some of the parts have more obvious borders that can be panel lined to help with guilding the paint work later on, ...

... but some others are either tiny dots on curved surface, or are orbs sitting on very low elevated bases that cannot be panel lined at all. ^^;
It seems I'll need to learn from that Zeon soldier who piloted Hildolfr and rely on my intuition for this paint work. XD

My intuition huh~ ^^

Painted all the parts using Mr. Hobby GX205 Mr. Metallic Color GX GX Metal Green.

Closeups on the paint result.
While I did paint over the edge on one or two parts, the spilled over amount is so minor I don't feel that it would affect the overall look. ^^
Looks like I can go and pilot Hildolfr myself.

^_^

Featured in my plamo work for the first time, this is how Mr. Hobby GX205 Mr. Metallic Color GX GX Metal Green looks like. ^^
Another paint from the same series, GX202 GX Metal Red was featured last year in the work on BB Senshi Sangokuden Kochu Gundam.

Using a slightly different way to detail the character's name molded on the soles. ^^

(Left) Painted the name gray using Gundam Marker.
(Right) All the sunken areas wide enough for my 0.05mm-tipped panel liner to draw on are painted black using said pen.

Before the panel liner paint dries, Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black) is applied to the sunken areas.

With excessive panel liner solution on the edges rubbed away using cotton swab soaked with thinner.
Since the panel liner ink doesn't mix with the Tamiya's enamel solution, the latter only "wraps" around the molded details of the character name (except some of the really tight corners where there's no other way for the solution to go), forming its outline. ^^

(Left) Molded details outside the two foot parts are panel lined using Gundam Marker GM03 for Panel Lining Super Fine (Brown).
(Right) Simple panel lining for the equally simple details on the ankle and upper arm parts.

Excessive panel liner solution on Hisenkon (飛旋棍), which was applied back in Part 1 is rubbed away using cotton swab soaked with thinner.
The lines are almost not visible at all, ... ^^;

... but when the staff is viewed from a different angle, the gray lines are very sharp. ^^

(Left) Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black) is used to detail the handles of Hisouto (飛双刀).
(Right) With excessive panel liner solution rubbed away using cotton swab soaked with thinner, and with additional line details added the usual way. ^^

The molded details on the blades are panel lined using Gundam Marker GM02 Gray with fine tip.
The marker was last used in the work on HG 1/144 scale Genoace Custom back in March 2013. ^^

With the jewel sets for the extra shoulder armors, with the parts detailed using a normal panel liner.

The body parts are detailed using a combination of normal panel liner and Gundam Marker GM03 for Panel Lining Super Fine (Brown).

To avoid scratch mark on the surface, excessive gold paint inside the collar armor and on the cape is wiped away using cotton swab soaked with thinner.

Other details on the two parts are panel lined the usual way.

As with the four shoulder armor parts.

Besides the metallic green paint work, this round of work covered many of Shin Enjutsu Zssa's parts. ^^ By part count, less than ten parts remain on the to-do list before the entire work is done, but saving the most difficult ones till the end, parts with the most elaborate of details that demands a lot of detailing work will be featured next. ^^;
