Sci-fi Revoltech Iron Man Mark V Part 5 [Final]

Minor bonuses

Another round of action poses from Sci-fi Revoltech Iron Man Mark V to start off this part of the review series on the figure. ^^

Supported using Soul Stage Act 4 for Humanoid Clear.

Soul Stage Act 4 for Humanoid Clear was used extensively in Mark V's action poses to address the figure's stability weakness that was mentioned in Part 3. ^^;

Comparison with War Machine:

There's no obvious size difference between the two figures, even though War Machine should appear much bulkier being a heavy-armored suit. This can be considered a design anomaly I suppose, if I really want to nitpick on the figures. ^^;

Comparison between the major joints to reveal the similarities and differences in the figures' joint design:

Shoulder armor - Identical design.

Waist - Different design.

Hips and movable thigh pieces - identical design although the pieces' shapes are obviously different to suit the figure's aesthetics.

Knee - Identical design.

All the major joints are the same between the two figures with the exception of their waist. War Machine has only one Revoltech joint connecting between the upper and lower bodies, with the waist "ring" acting as almost a decorative piece to hide the seam; for Mark V however, its upper and lower bodies have one Revoltech joint each, which connect to a waist block.

Comparison with its successor suit in Iron Man 2 (2010), Mark VI:

Since Mark VI's joint design is very different from that of Mark V, the size discrepancy - the anomaly mentioned earlier on is very obvious between the two figures as well. ^^;

Since the two figures have the same Revoltech joint design for their wrists, Mark VI's Repulsor beam-attached palm parts can be swapped onto Mark V for the figure to pose with it, as long as you're not too concerned about the inseparable armor pieces on the back of the hands that is. ^^;

Another bonus compatibility: the flame base can be connected to the soles of Mark V.

Additional flying pose for Mark V using Mark VI's base part. ^^

I'm not sure if the suitcase armor is able to provide Tony with the capability to fly in Mark V, but since it's a bonus compatibility enabled by the figures' design, I'm more than happy to give Mark V additional poses using Mark VI's parts. ^^

As detailed in Parts 2 and 3, while the paint work and detailing are beautiful, Mark V is not a very good action figure to play with unless a display stand is used extensively (which is exactly what I did ^^;). Poor stability is a major issue, and the mismatch between the waist joint and its connection point is very disappointing. ^^;

On that note, the bonus compatibility shown above is pretty useful for the figure's playability and probably helps to contribute a few additional points to that aspect. ^^;
