Continuing the work on HG 1/144 scale Ali al-Saachez's Customized AEU Enact Custom after the previous posting. ^^
Another set of really hard-to-paint parts appear. ^^;
(Left) The entire round edge on the two cockpit parts need to be painted white. ^^;
(Right) Foil stickers are given for the parts, but given how the straight sticker pieces is supposed to curve around the parts and leave behind uneven marks, I think I'll take the long way of painting the parts instead. ^^;
Painted the parts with multiple layers of Gundam Marker White paint.
Excessive paint on the black area is very carefully scratched away using a knife.
A true gut-wrenching step this is. ^^;
Stickers are given for the back of the three hand units which are molded entirely in black, but they don't cover the other exposing sides on the parts.
Painted the parts blue using Gundam Marker.
(Left) Excessive paint is scratched away and some minor panel lines added when the paint has dried.
(Right) Test fitting the painted parts to see how the completed hand units would turn out when assembled.
A tiny sunken square beneath the knee armor on each shin part is shown to be in yellow on the manual.
Painting such a tiny spot seems really troublesome to me, so I improvised on the details using spare foil stickers. For your information, the foil sticker sheet used is from the old HG 1/100 scale Master Gundam. ^^
The tiny sunken area around the knee armor is painted black using normal marker to emulate the leg's mecha component.
(Left) Only the front of the foot comes with a separated black part for its sole. The heel parts are molded entirely in blue.
(Right) Painted the bottom of the heel parts black using Gundam Marker.
The vent area on top the thigh (intake port?) is painted black using normal marker.
Simple panel lining for all the other leg parts.
Paint work on the knee and thigh parts are repeated for the other leg.
Also shown at the bottom right corner is the calf thruster part. Its interior is also painted black.
Still quite a bunch of parts to detail before the entire work is done. Will move on to the body and arms next. ^^
