Different paints, different panel liners, different foil stickers
Already up to Part 7 so far, Kotobukiya's HMM Zoids 1/72 Red Horn has become the plamo kit with the most work needed for me this year, surpassing Real Grade Gundam RX-78-2 and another Kotobukiya kit, SRW OG 1/144 scale ART-1, each with six postings on their painting and detailing. ^^

And the work on this HMM Zoids kit is not ending anytime soon. ^^



Continuing with the paint work on the various pipes, here are the parts that need to be painted silver.

Minimum high hope
Entering the second half of 2015, as I'm in high spirits and all energetic with the work on Kotobukiya's HMM Zoids 1/72 Red Horn at the moment. As I'm making good progress on that plamo work, I'm setting up the target of completing at least TEN review series on selected old collectibles before the end of this year. ^^

The targeted areas on the head and frill parts are painted using Mr. Gundam Color UG09 MS Gray Zeon Semi Gloss.

Secondary colors take the lead
The actual start to the foreseeably long series of painting and detailing on Kotobukiya's HMM Zoids 1/72 Red Horn after cleaning off all the parts' excess gates in the previous posting. ^^

A look at the parts to be painted:


Small sections of area on the head and frill parts to be painted gray.


As seen from the completed model's picture on the instruction manual, the different targeted areas have two different shades of gray actually. The side fins and nose section are in dark gray, while the frill bits and connector base have a lighter shade.

So much excess gates to take care of
A bit of progress update on Kotobukiya's HMM Zoids 1/72 Red Horn after the introduction in a few days ago. ^^

Normally, Part 2 of my plamo reviews would be about painting and detailing of selected parts, with the work usually being pretty extensive as well. For Red Horn however, the immediate first work after the removal of the parts from their runners is indeed quite intensive, but it's not related to any painting or detailing, yet. ^^

Instead, just removing all the excess gates from the parts took me two nights. ^^;
