More action poses from Figma Kenshin Uesugi after the previous posting. ^^
She can be posed reaching for the sword, but it's not possible to have the left palm actually touching the hilt. ^^;
Besides to be featured in this "official" pose with Kenshin looking all embarrassed, the large rice ball is not really a useful accessory for the figure. ^^;
Since she was mentioned in Part 2, here's a comparison between Kenshin and Meiya Mitsurugi, another samurai sword-wielding anime girl in Figma format. ^^
Meiya remains unchallenged in terms of height. ^^ As a matter of fact, with her head height only up to Meiya's chest level, Kenshin appears to be one of the shorter Figma figures in my collection. ^^
Comparison between the two figures' Samurai swords and scabbards:
While they appear to be of the same length, Meiya's sword is evidently boarder, and has a functional scabbard as well. ^^
Based on the connection between the actual historical warriors that these figures were based on, here's a fun comparison between Kenshin and Date Masamune and Sanada Yukimura from the Revoltech Yamaguchi Sengoku Basara series:
The unofficial Figma versus Revoltech fight XD
"Oops, did I just killed them?" XD
Even though she is an action figure, Kenshin's overall look and details are her most significant appeals to me. I like her armored look with the long dress very much, even though the large-sized costumed does cause the figure's articulation to suffer a bit. Then again, since poseability is not too much of a concern to me, I see said weakness as a fair trade-off for her great look. ^^
All reviews on Figma Kenshin Uesugi
Part 1: It's supposed to be cutesy, not creepy
Part 2: 1 sword X 3 states = 3 swords
Part 3: Stands really well despite all the weight
Part 4: Legs are for decoration only?
Part 5 [Final]: One of these things is not like the other
