1/100 Gundam Avalanche Exia Part 5

Combo of many things

Not completely done with 1/100 Gundam Avalanche Exia's waist parts in the previous posting, the work will continue in this posting. ^^

Molded entirely as a white part, the rear skirt thruster is another really troublesome part to deal with. ^^;
The thruster that is positioned deep inside the part is going to be quite a challenge to paint. ^^;

(Left) Panel lined the edges using the black paint with thinner method first.
(Right) Hand painted the thruster with Tamiya Color Acrylic Paint Mini XF-53 Neutral Grey using paint brush of the finest size.

Result of the paint work with panel lines added.

Like the ones on the rear shoulder thruster cases (Part 2), foil sticker is good enough to realize the yellow vent surface. ^^

Test fitting the parts to have a preview of how the completed component would look like. ^^

Treatment for the front skirt armors is going to be the same as the rear shoulder thruster cases and rear skirt thruster. The edges are panel lined using the black paint with thinner method first.

I can't make out what color used for the vents/thrusters (?) in the extension parts, so I supposed I'll go with gray to be consistent with the rear skirt thruster's color. ^^

The nozzles are painted using Gundam Marker Gray and normal black marker.

Foil stickers are used for the vent surface as well.

A combination of black paint with thinner method for the narrow slits and normal panel lining for line details on the surface makes panel lining all the GN Blades and Sword parts quite a bliss to complete XD

The protruding edges close to the knee on the leg armor part is painted gray using Gundam Marker to make them look like they are part of the leg's mechanical frame instead of the armor.

Just simple panel lining, no special treatment given to the calf thrusters base. ^^;

Since they are the same parts from the first 1/100 Gundam Exia, the same work done on those parts in that kit is repeated for these parts: simple panel lining + painting the rear portion of the ankle guard and small vents behind the heel armor black using normal marker.

A collection of all the same leg parts from 1/100 Gundam Exia. ^^

Some simple details behind the new leg armor parts are panel lined.

All the work is repeated for parts of the other leg. ^^

A huge difference in terms of amount of work needed between the shoulder armors and waist as compared to the legs indicates the level of details designed on those components I suppose. ^^ The sense of familiarity when dealing with parts from the first 1/100 Gundam Exia should also be factored into the observation, as the pauses and slight planning on what to do with those new parts also made the work seemed rather difficult some times. ^^;

Anyway, only parts of the body and head remain now - the body unit is almost identical to that of the first kit, while many of the head's parts were already completed after the All Exia Project. ^^ I should be able to complete everything by the next posting. ^^
