Transformers: Generations Fall of Cybertron Deluxe Class Starscream Part 2

Not bulky enough? Let's bulk him up even more

More images of Transformers: Generations Fall of Cybertron Deluxe Class Starscream in his Cybertronian jet mode after the introduction in the previous posting. ^^

The plain, weapon-less look of the jet mode:

Bottom view of the plain form.

Either wing has a round port on its underside that can be used to hold Starscream's weapon.

Besides the large legs forming Starscream thrusters, it's also interesting to see a rectangular gap between the head and the jet's main body. ^^ The gap is especially visible when the jet mode is viewed directly from the top, or from the bottom. ^^

There's no special gimmick for Starscream in this alternate form, but you can give the jet a better-looking mid-air pose using a display stand, Soul Stage Act 5 Action Support Type for Mechanics Clear Ver for example: ^^

Funnily, the gap highlighted earlier on proves mighty useful for the clips from Soul Stage Act 5 Action Support Type for Mechanics Clear Ver to grab on to the jet mode at a secured position. ^^

A look at Starscream's only weapons: two triple-barreled Gatling cannons.

The triple-barrels on either cannon can be rotated to simulate its firing effect, but it's a lot more interesting to see in combined mode.

As you may expect, any of the two straight pegs on each cannon can be used to attach the weapon to the underside of Starscream's wing to give the jet mode a more complete, weaponized look: ^^

Revisiting the two triple-barreled Gatling cannons and their special gimmicks:

Two pair of tabs and slots between the cannons can be used to connect the weapons.

The gears automatically line up when the cannons are combined. ^^ With that, spinning one of them makes the opposite cannon barrels rotates as well. ^^

Besides the "main" one just behind the barrels, the smaller gear on the side of the body can be used to activate the chained rotation as well. ^^

More images of the linked Gatling cannons:

Closeups on the details:

The linked Gatling cannons can actually be mounted onto Starscream in jet mode. Interestingly, this feature isn't shown in the instruction sheet. ^^;

The pegs are long enough to allow the cannons to be mounted beneath the jet, via the forearm ports, but as you may suspect, the connection is not very secured. ^^;

The "pyramid" behind the jet (Starscream's tail fin) can be removed, ...

... revealing a pair of peg slots which are evidently not required by any of the jet's own gimmicks, since there's none. XD

The peg slots seem to be designated solely for mounting the combined Gatling cannons.

The tail fin can then be pegged into a round slot formed from the cannons' linkage. ^^

Starscream with the combined cannons mounted on top the jet:

Supported using Soul Stage Act 5 Action Support Type for Mechanics Clear Ver:

From certain angles, the linked cannons look fine as a weapon attachment for Starscream on top its jet mode, but from some other angles, the cannons protrude so much they seem like an additional drone fighter that has docked with Starscream. XD The bulk of the individual cannons as weapons attached beneath the wings is transferred to the top side of the fighter jet, so unless they are detached completely, that bulky Cybertronian jet look is going to stay with Starscream in one way or another. XD

Comparison with the "Transformers: Prime" incarnation of the same character:

With the "First Edition" Deluxe Class version in jet mode.

The "Transformers: Prime" version is much slimmer and sleeker. ^^

In robot mode.

A look at Starscream's jet-to-robot mode transformation next. ^^
