BB Senshi Sangokuden Bacho Blue Destiny Part 4

Weapons of mass painting

Another round of work on BB Senshi Sangokuden Bacho Blue Destiny - the last one this time since there aren't many parts left after the previous posting.

The again, the workload seems to be disproportional to the number of part though, which is always the case with BB Senshi releases. ^^;

Panel lining for the body and backpack parts.

Referencing the box's images, there are two belt buckles on the chest that need to be painted.

The belt buckle's design is quite clever in its own way: when the chest armor is attached, the former would seem to be latching onto it. ^^

Painted the parts using Gundam Marker Gold.

Tons of work for the little chest armor. ^^;
The part is panel lined first ...

.. before painted using Gundam Marker Gold.
Slow and steady, with some tight spots done using toothpick is the way to go, since the part is so small, yet so many delicate details to paint. ^^;

Reapply panel lines to completed the work on this part.

Moving on to the weapon parts that demand a lot of painting. ^^;

Applied multiple layers of red paint to the spear and sword using Gundam Marker.

Excessive paint is scratched away using a pen knife.
Some minor spillovers are just been covered up using new panel lines.

From the box side image, a tiny red jewel can be spotted on the crossguard of the sword.

(Left) Painted the base of the jewel gold using Gundam Marker, scratched away excessive paint on its top portion, then painted the jewel metallic red using the marker from BB Senshi Sangokuden set, and panel lined.
(Right) No jewel just the base on the opposite face of the crossguard, which is also painted and panel lined.

In comparison to the previous two weapons, the work on the blade and shield are much easier, since the parts are white in overall, have wider surface to paint on, and only one color is needed. ^^

Done for all the weapons.
No assembly required for any of them on the actual model, but the paint work sure is a lot more than some of the other components that do require assembly. ^^;

Simple panel lining for the head parts.

Painted the character's surname on the forehead gold using Gundam Marker.
The details is really good! ^^

Painted the chin red using Gundam Marker as well.

And so concludes the work on BB Senshi Sangokuden Bacho Blue Destiny. ^^ The paint work is a lot for such a small kit, as usual for this particular Gunpla series, but that might just be my observation after about a month of not working on something like this. HG 1/144 Gafran is out of the consideration since the paint work it needed was little. ^^

Anyway, all the parts will be kept in its box for a while before the final assembly. ^^
