Jumping to an action figure review after the work on HG 1/144 G-Exes Jackedge. ^^ Interestingly enough, while it has no connection with BB Senshi Sangokuden Gotaitei Sonken Gundam Korinpaku completed earlier this month, the design motif of this action figure is exactly the same as that Gunpla kit. ^^
This is Figma Kamen Rider Axe from "Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight". Fans of the Japanese series would know him as Kamen Rider Tiger from "Kamen Rider Ryuki". I prefer the name "Tiger" since it instantaneously identify his animal motif. ^^ Speaking of Kamen Rider Tiger's animal motif, I'm really glad that it's designed after a white tiger instead of a normal Bengal Tiger. The silver and blue color scheme gives Kamen Rider Tiger a very cool and sharp appearance which I really like. Between him and Kamen Rider Gai, I think I like Kamen Rider Tiger just a little bit more because of its color scheme and animal motif. ^^
Yellow and black color scheme of a Bengal Tiger might just work with Kamen Rider Tiger as well, even though that color combination would definitely be in conflict with that of Kamen Rider Imperer I guess. ^^;

Because of my liking towards Kamen Rider Tiger's design, I pre-ordered this item almost the moment it was made available, and that was quite a while back - this Figma action figure was released in May last year. Tamashii Nation just released the S.H. Figuarts version this month as well, but given how the content is exactly the same as this Figma version, I don't think I would need another Kamen Rider Tiger in my collection, even though I like the design very much. ^^;
Medicom Toy released a 12-inch version in its Real Action Heroes series, named Axe not Tiger back in December 2010. At a whopping price of 19,740 Yen (inclusive of tax), I gave it a pass a long time ago. ^^;

A blue backdrop with lightning effect and Kamen Rider Axe's insignia suits the figure very well. ^^
