Starting to work on HG 1/144 G-Exes Jackedge after the introduction in the previous posting. ^^
All the parts identified for some paint work to be applied.
The thruster area on the soles as mentioned in the previous posting.
The neck area should be in gray according to the box art illustration.
The backpack's top vents should be in gray - there are foil sticker pieces for these two parts actually.
The thruster area should be painted gray as well to compliment the molded color of the thruster nozzles.
Referencing its image in the manual, the thruster area's color is not clearly shown. It's up to my interpretation then I guess. ^^
The missiles inside the side skirt armors should be painted gray as well to make them more noticeable when assembled.
The large military knife is going to be painted silver.
Tamiya Color Acrylic Paint Mini XF-53 Neutral Grey is used for all the gray parts.
Gaia Metallic Color No. 9 Bright Silver is used for the knife.
Finishing the detailing of the sole: excessive paint is scratched away, tight spots between the nozzles and dark blue part are panel lined using Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black). Other line details are done using normal panel liner.
(Left) Excessive paint on the collars are wiped away using cotton swab soaked with leveling thinner. No knife is used to prevent any scratch mark on these very obvious parts.
(Right) Some excessive paint in front of the neck area is left untreated since a small separate protruding part will come on to cover the paint.
Painted black for the "borders" between front and rear body parts so that the lines would be very obvious when assembled.
(Left) Excessive gray paint inside the top vent parts is scratched away using a toothpick (since the area is too tight for a knife).
(Right) Panel lining applied to the vent area.
(Left) Excessive gray part at the thruster area is scratched away using a knife.
(Right) Panel lining applied to all four parts.
Just panel lining for the missiles.
The missiles can indeed be seen more easily inside the side skirt armor now. ^^
Panel lining for the knife's handle.
Unlike Gafran, there are more parts in this kit that require paint work, which is arguably optional anyway. ^^ Those painted parts can serve as extra details to the completed G-Exes Jackedge, which doesn't really have much details to show without extra detailing. ^^;
Going for all the other parts in the next posting. ^^
