MG Gundam AGE-1 Normal Part 13

Intensive hand swapping

The just completed "Savior" in action this time. ^^























The handgun mode of DODS Rifle is seriously not my cup of tea. ^^; No matter how well the Gundam poses with it, the weapon always looks like a handheld camera to me XD














I think it's very obvious to see how flexible the joint design of this MG kit is in supporting all the action poses so far. The shoulder and ankle joints are especially crazy. ^^ Wide rearward bend for the shoulder joint is not a feature commonly seen on other Gunplas, even in the MG series, but it's certainly a showoff on Gundam AGE-1 Normal. ^^ Bending the shoulder and arm backward always gives the model a ready-to-strike pose, which I like very much. ^^ The wide articulation range of the ankle joint works wonder in allowing the feet to touch the surface the model is standing on. Many other kits have limited clearance between the ankle joint, usually just a ball-type joint and the feet. This often causes the model to lose the ability to spread its legs wide and stand firm at the same time. Such issue is nonexistence for Gundam AGE-1 Normal, which is just amazing. ^^

The only gripe I have about the kit so far is the constant need to swap in and out hand parts for the different poses. ^^; As mentioned back in Part 7, adjustment for DODS Rifle is especially complicated. It sort of takes away bit of the fun of posing the model - adjusting the joints is mighty easy, but then you get stuck at swapping the hand units. ^^; It's not a major flaw per se, but it's kind of annoying sometimes. ^^;
