More painting and detailing on BB Senshi Sangokuden Asurao Moukaku Gundam, Syukuyuu Gundam and Kyoshin Elephant Set after the previous posting. ^^
After all the twists and turns in past postings, the focus is now on the parts of the two Gundams themselves. For Kongouyaka, after the paint work on all its elaborate curvy details was completed in Part 4, most of its other parts involve just panel lining, which is relatively simple and require no explicit mentioning I believe. ^^
More paint work on Moukaku Gundam's and Syukuyuu Gundam's parts:
Top portion of the shoulder armors should be painted white.
Before applying the white paint, the interior of the shoulder armors is going to be painted black first.
Oddly, even though the completed model of Moukaku Gundam as shown in the box side image does show the interior of the shoulder armors to be painted, the box art illustration shows the color to be missing instead.
The parts are panel lined first to identify the border between targeted area for the paint work and edges of the armor to be left unpainted.
Like most other BB Senshi kits I worked on in the past, the bottom face of the skirt armors is going to be painted black as well to give the parts an added sense of depth.
The sole of Moukaku Gundam and rear face of Syukuyuu Gundam's head jewel will be painted black as well.
Discarding the panel lines which I did much earlier on when I forgot that the parts are going to be painted, ^^; the caterpillar tracks on the hind legs of Kougouyaga should be painted black too.
Painted all the parts black using Gaia Color 022 Semi Gloss Black.
Edges of the tracks are painted as well.
While waiting for the paint on all the parts to dry, some minor unpainted spots on the front skirt armor part are repainted.
An annoying but necessary task this is. ^^;
Excessive black paint on the edges of the skirt armor parts is scratched away using a pen knife.
A "snap" of the pen knife's blade actually. ^^
A smaller blade segment held using my own fingers is much easier to maneuver when scratching on the parts as compared to a whole knife.
Excessive black paint on the other parts is cleaned off as well. ^^
The interior of Syukuyuu Gundam's head jewel is painted using Gaia Metallic Color No. 9 Bright Silver to give it a shiny and glossy appearance beneath the clear green jewel that will be placed on top of it when assembled.
Test fitting the painted parts to see how the head jewel would turn out when assembled. ^^
Will move on to complete the detailing work on Moukaku Gundam's and Syukuyuu Gundam's body parts next. ^^
