MS Gundam Seed Heroines 4 Part 3

Aisha

A look at the third figurine from MS Gundam Seed Heroines 4 gashapon set after Lacus Clyne and Meyrin Hawke featured last month. ^^

This is Aisha who appeared only in "MS Gundam SEED". ^^

A little bit of assembly required, as the figurine is being separated into a few parts.

The figurine can stand very well without the use of the included display base and supporting stand.

Except being the woman beside Andrew Waltfeld in the story of Gundam SEED, not much was revealed about Aisha if I remember correctly. Due to her really short screen time, there wasn't any character development about her either. ^^; Off the battlefield, she was always cool and elegant. This can be seen very clearly in her interaction with Kira and Cagalli in the desert arc of "MS Gundam SEED". As the gunner of LaGOWE, her light purple pilot suit is a huge contrast to Andrew Waltfeld's customized color scheme to pretty much everything on that Mobile Suit, but it's a nice touch to reinforce her elegant characteristic. ^^

Another interesting point about Aisha is her voice actress, Vivian Hsu (徐若瑄), who is actually a Taiwanese singer and actress. ^^ I listened to a couple of her songs when I was in my secondary school days and liked them a lot. She sung mainly pop music, so her songs were frequently broadcasted on various radio station channels at that time. When I picked out her voice in "MS Gundam SEED", the image of Aisha singing in Mandarin and dancing would pop up in my head every so often when Vivian Hsu's songs were played on the radio. ^^ It's a very weird and funny image. XD

One of my favorite songs by Vivian Hsu is "不败的恋人" (literally "invincible lover").

Closeups on the details:

Due to the neck peg's design to fit with the shape of the collar when connecting to the figurine's body, no movement is possible for the head. ^^;

Disappointingly, the face sculpt and details are quite far off the actual character design I think. ^^; The face is somewhat too long and the chin is way too pointy - the overall proportion is just weird-looking. ^^; All other features of the figurines including her hair, body-line, dress and overall pose are very well done, but the most important part of them all came out to be quite disappointing, which is truly unfortunate for the figurine. Discounting all the different resin kits not officially licensed by Bandai, this might be the only figurine of Aisha in the regular market. ^^; Neither the face design of this gashapon figurine nor the merchandising of the character in general is good news to fans of Aisha. ^^;

Then again, come to think of it, the design might be very accurate - it all depends on which character illustration was referred to when the face sculpt was created. ^^;
