Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Cyberverse Commander Class Optimus Prime Part 3

Forward-looking (only) Optimus Prime

More images of "Transformers: Prime - Beast Hunters" Cyberverse Commander Class Optimus Prime after the previous posting. ^^

Closeups on the details:

[Head]

[Body]

[Arms]

[Weapons]

[Legs]

The tagline of this posting is actually from the last posting of the review on Megatron from the same product line. For Megatron, the "look" refers to his joint-less head; for this new Optimus Prime, it's about his back (or lack thereof). ^^; Because of how the arms are folded up behind the back in vehicle mode, once they are expanded and the head lifted, Optimus Prime's rather empty back is exposed. ^^; In essence, the outcome isn't too different from his first Commander Class self which has a rather plain-looking back as well. However, for the latter, its cool clear teal part and overall much slimmer body proportion helps to hide the plainness of the back. Not to mention all the weapon connecting points can also assist in that matter when the blasters are mounted. Unfortunately for this new Optimus Prime, all those design points are not available. ^^; On top of that, its bulky appearance seems to amplify on the fact that it has an empty-looking back as well. ^^;

Disregarding the back, the front view of the figure is really awesome. I really like the combination of colors on all the components. As compared to the darker tone on the first Commander Class figure, the brighter, more vibrant red suits Optimus Prime's hero image much better in my opinion. The completely blue legs are much more reminiscent of the original Optimus Prime from "Transformers: Generation 1" as well. I always like the silver windshield frames and tiny golden details on the truck nose in vehicle mode, so it's good that those details, as well as most of the other vehicle mode details can be seen on the body in robot mode. ^^ Some of the vehicle mode parts are not hidden well, mainly the smoke stakes beside the forearms and front wheels that are too exposed on top of the shoulders, but they are not too horrible-looking and distracting in my opinion. ^^

Overall, it's a very powerful-looking, beefed up version of Optimus Prime that I like very much. ^^ I wish its back could have been treated a little better to get rid of the emptiness, but from most angles, it's still a very nice-looking Transformers figure. ^^

Moving on to talk about the articulation design and adjustment of action poses on this Commander Class figure next. ^^
