More action poses from BB Senshi Sangokuden Sonsaku Physalis Gundam after the previous posting. ^^
Supported using Soul Stage Act 4 for Humanoid Clear.
A comparison with his younger brother, Gotaitei Sonken Gundam Korinpaku:
The mark of the Son family. ^^
There's very little resemblance between Koteitou and its upgraded "Shin" form (真・虎錠刀) used by Gotaitei Sonken Gundam Korinpaku.
With different paints used on the golden parts of the two kits (Gotaitei Sonken Gundam Korinpaku used Mr. Metal Color 219 Brass, while Sonsaku Physalis Gundam was painted with Gaia Metallic Color No. 122 Star Bright Gold), the inconsistency in their appearance is very obvious. ^^; In hindsight, I kind-of wish that I didn't change my paint preference in Gaia Metallic Color No. 122 Star Bright Gold after using it on Tenshouryu Koumei Nu Gundam. ^^; Of all the gold paints I used so far, Gaia Metallic Color No. 122 Star Bright Gold stands out as my favorite for its shininess and texture. It would be great to have that beautiful golden paint outcome on Sonken Gundam, which in turn would give the two brothers a more consistent look when placed together. ^^
Overall, Sonsaku Physalis Gundam is an impressive BB Senshi Sangokuden kit for its large size, versatile and fun weapon gimmicks, and of course a really fierce-looking image. ^^ All those factors actually support its connection to Gundam GP02A, the Gundam design it's based off. There's obviously no nuclear weapon in the world of BB Senshi Sangokuden, but the model kit's gimmick design allows it to realize the Atomic Bazooka, as well as raised shoulder armors that represent the Gundam's deployed thrusters. ^^ While it's the BB Senshi Sangokuden version of Gundam GP02A, its ability to represent some of the actual Gundam's features is very interesting to play with. It's a really fun BB Senshi kit in that sense. ^^

Hi Ngee Khiong. I want to ask what do you do with the leftover paints after thinning? Do u keep them in a jar or dispose of them and thin a new batch when you require? Thanks
>>Kelvin
I just paint straight out of the bottles so I don't face such problem. ^^
Ngee Khiong,
Thanks for the reply. You paint straight out of the bottles even for big parts like the silver for the blade? Won't the paint be too thick?
>>Kelvin
I dip the tip of my paint brush in thinner first before getting the paint from the bottle - an obvious step since the paint would just clogged up the tip if no thinner is used. I look at how saturated the mixture between the thinner and that particular paint on the tip to determine if it's OK to go ahead and paint it onto a certain part. If not, I just dip the tip into the paint to thicken it and observe again.
I find using paint brushes of different sizes to match the parts helps too.
