HCM-Pro Gundam RX-78-2 Roll Out Color Ver. Part 3

The White-and-Silver Devil

More images of HCM-Pro Gundam RX-78-2 Roll Out Color Ver. after going through its weapons and option parts in the previous posting. ^^

Closeups on the details:

While the combination of white and silver as the figure's main color combination seems somewhat bland at first, I definitely like it more now. ^^ Looking at the distribution of the two colors on the figure, the designer's intention to maintain a balanced contrast can be observed rather easily. ^^ The lower body is perhaps the best example of said color contrast, with white and silver interlacing between the different segments of the legs.

In terms of the detailing, the metallic paint result of the silver components allows the molded line details to be seen with ease, while those on the white parts don't show up much unless being focused upon in close scrutiny. That contrast turns out to be an unexpected interesting point with regards to the color scheme in my opinion, in view of both white and silver being bright colors but only one allows the molded details to pop more easily. ^^

With the very limited bit of yellow (for the 'V' crest on the waist and the giant cross on the shield) notwithstanding, red is the most outstanding color on the entire figure. While I do like that color providing contrast to the overall look, I kind of wish that it was dark gray of the same tone as the joints and hyper bazooka instead. The color matching would be closer, especially when the hyper bazooka is equipped to the figure. More importantly, the overall monochrome look of the figure would be more complete. ^^ Then again, said color change would put the overall scheme too close to that designated for G-3 Gundam I suppose, so it won't be a good idea. ^^;

A look at the articulation design of this HCM-Pro action figure next. ^^
