Random (1)

要下就跟我下大一点

The sky outside my house at 5.45PM.

Unlike my friends in the United States, especially those living in the east coast who are currently suffering from Hurricane Irene, and those in Taiwan who are battling Typhoon Nanmadol (God bless you all, your families and friends), we here are having some really hot hazy days with very terrible air quality. There were a few showers late at night and very early in the morning in the last few days, which did very little help in clearing off the hot weather. So seeing this storm coming is quite a welcoming scene, at least for me. Hopefully the rain will be heavy enough to clean the air for the next few days.

Writing and waiting right now, and while the sky is still dark, I'm still not hearing any raindrop outside my windows yet. Is this going to be another false alarm? -_-

MG Shin Musha Gundam Part 19 [Final]

Beauty and power

The last part of the review on MG Shin Musha Gundam already. ^^

With its bust display equivalence from Magnetic Scout Gundam capsule toy set.

Despite some variations in appearance, especially the design of their Fukikaesi - the adornment on both sides of helmet, the overall design between the two versions is the same.

Another look at the comparison with MG Gundam RX-78-2 Ver. OYW.

As mentioned before, the ankle extension makes Shin Musha Gundam slightly taller than its predecessor. If that component is taken out, the two would be of the exact same (head) height - they have to be since both are using the same inner frame. ^^

Very fierce-looking, very beautiful. ^^ I'm kind of at a loss here in thinking of other words I haven't used before to describe it. XD There's a lot of fun to be enjoyed in the assembly as well, since the part design is just as unconventional as the armor design itself. ^^ With the pre-assembled leg frames inherited from MG Gundam RX-78-2 Ver. 1.5 and the rather simple body frame from MG Gundam RX-78-2 Ver. OYW, majority of the part count is for the armors. There're plenty of parts to put together to complete the kit, so that's another fun factor about this kit.

While the articulation does suffer from the bulky armors, it's not too much of a problem to weight down on its action poses and playability. The knee is unaffected by the armors, so it could utilize the inherited inner frame's flexible design for its movement. The shoulder joint for the plate armor is quite an awesome point as well that helps a lot in adjustment of wider room for the arms to move around when the Gundam is wielding its weapons. Those two are among the great articulation design points on this kit that I like very much.

And to think that all the great new stuff are actually added designs with elements from two models kits I already built is very impressive to begin with. Anything after the inner frame is totally new, so there wasn't any weariness of doing the same old kit again. ^^

The spray-painting experience I got from this kit is very fun as well. It wasn't my first time using spray can, but a full surfacer plus two layers of spray paint was definitely a new for me. ^^ The outcome isn't too outstanding - the color is just very ordinary gold I would say, but at least I got rid of the brownish original molded color of the parts, which is already an achievement on my book. ^^

Similar spray can sessions are needed for MG Sinanju Ver. Ka I think, but I believe I would be able to do it with a little bit more confidence and ease ^^

Anyway, after completing Shin Musha Gundam, I'm thinking of adding Musha Gundam Mk. II to my collection, ^^ since that's another very unique-looking Samurai Gundam. I have being pondering between the Gundam Mk. II Ver. 2.0 Titans' Ver. and Musha Gundam Mk. II for quite a while now, because the earlier is actually the one that I like better, but Musha Gundam Mk. II does almost the same fierce-looking elements as Shin Musha Gundam, especially its kabuto design. Both uses the same inner frame, and having just completed Gundam Mk. II Ver. 2.0, there's a sense of reluctance in getting two and work on the same frame again. ^^;

Decision... decision... ^^;

Char-tember Rising

3 times the fun!!!

A brand new month coming, and some really fun stuff is under planning for this blog as well. ^^

With majority of the Gunplas I did and reviewed over the past few months being dedicated to Gundam-type ones, Master Grade Johnny Ridden's Customized High Mobility Type Zaku II Ver. 2.0 and BB Senshi Sangokuden Choko Zaku III seem to be the only two shining their mono-eyes on this blog this year. Definitely not enough I say, so it's time to Sieg the Zeon up here, and there's really no other way to do it louder than to bring out some of the boss units I've been saving up all this while, all which are from the Red Comet himself, real or fake ones, with or without his mask on. ^^

Master Grade Char's Gelgoog Ver. 2.0, Sinanju Ver. Ka and HGUC Sazabi. Red, fierce and huge in size for their respective scales. The hot days can't get any hotter with these three on the to-do list. ^^ In between the work, I might start building the Crimson Nova - MG Johnny Ridden's Customized High Mobility Type Zaku II Ver. 2.0 as well just to add on to the redness of the blog in September. ^^

No 3x speed though. ^^; I've been saving up all these good stuff to enjoy the fun s-l-ow-l-y. ^^
