Humable Model Gundam RX-78-2 Part 1

First taste at Banpresto's magic

The first two Banpresto prize items in my collection - Humable Model Gundam RX-78-2 and God Gundam Hyper Mode. ^^

Didn't get them through UFO machines as how prize items were won in Japan of course, I got them through a local toystore as a set of two. Thank goodness that such prize items are still available through toystore really. If they are meant to be strictly "prize" item, then I would only get to drool all over on their reviews ^^;

The two I bought are Gundam RX-78-2 and God Gundam Hyper Mode, released in Japan back in February this year.

No special reason or liking on either MS actually, what I wanted more is to experience the magic of Banpresto's articulation design for these Gundam prize items, which amazes me from time to time. I wanted to see how exactly they are being designed. ^^

We'll look at Gundam RX-78-2 first.

Almost feel like it's a candy box at first glance XD

Components of the body are separated, so a bit of assembly is required.

Apart from the knee, all joints are ball-type, and all of them are made of ABS hard plastic.

Ankle has two joints - one connecting to the leg, one to the shoe. The dynamic design of the leg also increases the range for the knee to bend.

Details beneath the shoe.

Apart from the elbow and the joint between the shoulder and upper arm, all other joints are ball-type.

A bar with two ball joints connecting the arm to the body. They control the movements of the shoulders in all directions.

Two types of option hand units included, fist and hand for holding the weapon.

Elbow can bend to almost 90 degrees.

So, one of the most important features of this Humable Model series demystified - plenty of old school ball-type joints XD

Head, body and weapons in the next review. ^^

That is very articulated for a prize item! Too bad I don't see any beam saber effect parts which is the only thing(s) missing.
