Always Beginning, Beginning Gundam

I am I, you are you, he is he, and we ...

The release of HG 1/144 Beginning Gundam on Monday really got me thinking about a lot of stuff. ^^;

The trailer of "Gunpla Senshi Gunpla Builders Beginning G" released back in early August showed Haru Irei, the protagonist purchased a HG kit of Beginning Gundam.

With the box art totally the same as the actual kit, it's interesting to assume that both kits - the one shown in the trailer, and the one released last Monday are indeed the same thing, because then my imagination would just run wild with a lot of funny questions, when the side of the box also shows Haru Irei and the anime.

So when the boy is looking at the introduction of the Gundam on the box, he will be looking at the anime he is playing in. XD On top of that, he get to see the picture of himself at the event purchasing that kit too. ^^ In the introduction of the kit, Beginning Gundam and Haru Irei are shown as characters of the anime, so in the actual anime, the boy is looking at the introduction of an anime about himself. That's like the the anime inside an anime...

This is the perhaps the moment when even a psychiatrist would go, "Where are we?" XD

Don't think too much! That's the right way to go XD

Images are from this and this previous posting.

* The title "Always Beginning" is the theme of Gundam 30th Anniversary last year.

woa I never thought about that.
good question it is

but judging that in the anime, Kenta said he never seen Beginning, I think the side must be different.

You check carefully the two pictures, the box from up has no logo. in thew actual HG, there's a logo on it.

This has also got me thinking that there might really be a MG Beginning Gundam.

Why the closing? is it because we blocked all of your advertisement?

Ngee, you inspired me to get Beginning Gundam and have kept me informed on everything good in Gundam for the past three or so years. I hope you don't close down as I regularly follow your blogs and am much impressed with your skills on the kits (especially the Exia kits - please put the Avalanche -my favourite!- together soon!).
Keep us all posted as to your decision! And BTW the new look to the main blog - a little more solid looking, I think?!

Alas! This place which sharing lots of news of models is going to close. I'm probably one of the "intense readers." It's happy every time I view this blog, because I enjoy watching the pics of every sorts of mechas. Thank you to share all the resources for a long time.

Thank you so much for the time that you have been active. I use blogger every day for my blog and of course following blogs just like yours. Your blog by far has been the one that I have probably looked at the most by far. Always great pictures and coverage of events or releases in mecha and figures. I will miss your blog everyday. I appreciate what you have done over the time of the life of this blog.

You know, it's ironic that your post says "Prelude to the Ending" and then when you look over to the EX side, it says "Always Beginning." Anyways, I just want to say that I read your blog several times a day with pleasure, and it will surely be missed now, not just by me but by the entire Gundam community. Not many blogs provide as much visual imagery and details as yours do. Also, I respect your decision for closing down because at times, I too can't take the bitterness from Gundam fans or the franchise as a whole and I just want to step away from it all. Thank you for all the time and effort you have put into your blog, and I wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide to pursue in your hobby. I salute you, Ngee Khiong.

Just want to say a big thanks for all those info and updates all these years! All the best in whatever direction you wish to take from here!

I've been one of your "intense" readers, checked you blog daily for new updates and all. Thanks for all your effort thus far, this is probably the #1 blog for any mecha related news. Sad to see it go =/

Good luck with future ventures!

It seems that you've made up your mind, and nothing we readers can do to change it.

I'd like to say thank you, for the info, for the advice, and for making me spend all that money on gunpla because I saw it at NK and decided that it was a must have.

To me, Gunpla is a hobby. Sure, the general public may scoff at it, but I like how it can capture my utmost attention. Assembling, detailing, little mods here and there.

Without NK, my collection would still be in the tens, I wouldn't even know about Gundam 00 (movie included), Unicorn, Beginning, Zegapain, the newer Kamen Riders, and a whole lot other things I simply took for granted.

Farewell, and godspeed, Ngee Khiong.

Oh, and you won't delete the blog, right? Just stop updating?

There's waaaaaay too much useful information there. Pity to see it gone.

I'm a frequent read of your blog, and I must say:

From yesterday when you left your "Prelude to the Ending" post, I have check this blog more times than ever before; I am too eager to find out the reason for closing down Ngeekhiong.

Anonymous said...

I love your blog, and you always give me the most updated gunplas there are, which make my collections very great.

but Bandai have been always re-using the design, and have no originality..therefore i'm getting tired of them lately..

this might be a good time for you to quit the blog.. therefore i thank you for your effort.. and Farewell

Sigh. Sad to see you go, man. Gundam Beginning looks promising, especially Bear-guy. I'm going to get like 5 of them just to paint them in different colours. :D

Gonna miss the blog, this is my number one spot to check for mecha and figure news. Guess it is what it is. You did a great job updating constantly.

No choice is wrong. Just remember.

Also who is the guy trying to bash on NK? Can't really be Danny Choo... Dude please, grow up.

firzen9000 said...

@Danny Choo

It's people like you who causes stuff like this to happen.

Thks NK, for everything, appreciate it from deep down our hearts @ Dr GUNPLA.....

Danny Choo said...

Look folks, NK has no original content what so ever. I build my own gundams. I take pictures of them. That's a fact.

Just go to my site and see it.

www.dannychoo.com

I'm not hating, I'm just saying the facts. I got the goods.

That comment from "Danny Choo" is not from me.

Besides - I have not written about Gundam in many years.

Onderon said...

I just want to say Thanks alot! No matter what path you decide it's for you to take and don't let anyone say otherwise.

The last thing we need if posers. I doubt Danny would do something like that either. Both are great guys whom I respect alot, so seeing people ruin their names just simply disgusts me.

Ngee Khiong said...

Danny sent me an email regarding the imposters posting hateful messages up here. Sad, very sad, because I don't see the direct connection between him and my blog for any argument to start. Imposters should stop, but people should stop responding to that as well. It's too easy to see that. So please, I'm writing up a new posting on this blog. Let's move on to better discussion of the interest in Gunpla and other hobbies.

Joe said...

I too am one of the many who enjoy the hobby and the anime for the hobby and the anime. In fact, I just watched G-Savior and have nothing to bash it about, it was good for what it was ^_^.

NK, Please continue Ex for the love of Gunpla. As you may find from my blog, I learn bits and pieces of fun things from your Ex blog. I hope to continue learning.

You had a good blog, and you have nothing to be ashamed of, or apologize for. It's not your fault on how people react to the news you post. They'll react to it somewhere else, and just as badly if they can.

You are factual, and objective. And most of all, polite. That's something to be proud of.

Nice gunpla, the hands with the beams sabers reminds me a lot the Garazzo's beam-hands.

I've enjoy two years reading your main blog, it´s a bit sad have to say "The end", but I respect your decision. You should be proud of yourself, making all this great work during 4 years for all the gundam fans across the world.

having nothing more to say

"Saludos"(greetings) from Perú

Good luck

Hey there! I've been following your blog for the last year or 2 (can't really remember for some reason...), and I just want to thank you for all your hard work, translating all of that information to english so we don't have to.

Anonymous said...

We all would like to move on NK, but there's always people who isn't willing to do so and would be going all out to jeopardize everything.

Speaking of which, I felt bandai got lazy on the head and the "beam effect" hands, imagine how much work you'll need to put in just for the beam effect hands >_<

But maybe perhaps I'm too pampered by the recent HGUC and HG 1/144 releases that I failed to realize how well articulated the newer releases are compared to the old releases.

NK, glad to hear the Ex survives the great purge. Although with your 'main' blog now terminated I've lost my daily plastic fix :(

Still the nature and subject matter of Ex means that it will always be more personal and a better reflection of you and your interests. Here there is no obligations for you to 'feed' the community with news. Being able to work and post at your own pace is the greatest way to recharge those drained batteries!

... and I'd still be able to leach WIP images off you - not having to paint the whole inner frame as someone's already pointed out the visible parts is pure win!

It is so apt that this post of yours has the word 'beginning' not once but twice :)

P.S. It is sad that the haters seem to be flocking here instead. Since this isn't a news aggregator and is but a personal blog, perhaps you might want to consider limiting comments to registered users?

firzen9000 said...

Very, VERY glad that NK EX is staying. I don't think I could continue without your presence on the internet each day.

It's sad to see you stop your main blog but I'm happy that you will continue this blog since your review and tips are a good reference to all of us.

Took me a while to read your final post but I can understand, maybe not completely, why you ended your blog. I read it everyday and maybe I'll still key the URL from time to time even though no new posts will pop up there ever again. ^^;
I respect your decision but don't put the blame on yourself for certain occurrences. It is simple human nature to fight each other since we cannot reach a proper understanding. Your intention to bring the news for the better of the community is a great deed in itself no matter how others interpret it (which is a free opinion).

Thank you for all you did and I hope things will change for the better too.

Hi Ngee khiong, sad to hear u stop blogging due to 'closed-minded' individuals. After reading your long post, I respect your decision in doing so. Ultimately, it boils down to human nature which most of us find it hard to control. All we want is to bring news and interest to people about the hobby, but sadly, many view it otherwise.

Still, appreciate the effort and hard work that you have done in all these years. You will be greatly missed by all who follow your blog. Hope that in the near future, you may gradually pick up blogging again. But still maintain that love that you have for gunpla.

Best of luck in whatever you do.
