HG 1/144 Tieren Space Commander Type Part 1

You dare call me a blockhead?
The next kit I'm working on after BB Senshi Sangokuden Shusou Doven Wolf is this one: HG 1/144 MSJ-06II-ET Tieren Space Commander Type, a MS used by Sergei for a brief 2 episodes in Gundam Double O Season 1.


Its appearance in the anime is almost entirely for HRL's effort to capture the 4 Celestial Beings' Gundams. The box art showing it alongside Tieren Taozi and a few Tieren Space Type behind it is a clear illustration of the operation. A failure it was, and this unit didn't show much impressive performance in the entire operation. Still, the plamo release gave this MS some very impressive articulation design for its shoulder shields, plus a sheet of clear stickers featuring two types of Sergei's "Russian bear" motif. Being a fan of Tieren, I see this as a special blue variation of Tieren with very flexible shoulder shields worthy for the purchase and assembly. I also have HG 1/144 Tieren Taozi, which I like over its very unconventional color scheme (pink) ^^

Some of Tieren Space Commander Type's other features are pretty cool as well - giant tubes on the knee, spiky heel, large backpack thrusters and a "box" sitting on its head, which I assume is its emphasized sensor unit. The ground type has proven to be quite an agile kit, so I'm quite interested to see if this space commander type can do any better.

Runner G and H feature new parts for Tieren Space Type. Tieren Space Commander Type has an extended Runner G featuring parts for the shield.



Some unused parts for the leg, feet and additional thrusters inherited from Tieren Space Type.


As usual, all parts are arranged into paper boxes for separate treatment.
Some parts I'm thinking of applying some painting include the interior of the thrusters (quite a few of them). The blade component of the Smooth Bore Gun and the rings on the knee tanks - supposedly part of the leg will definitely be painted.
