1/100 Dynames Part 1

Another Gunpla with giant shoulder shield

While waiting for the black paint on my MG Shin Musha Gundam to dry, I thought it would be good to start working on another kit, one that won't require any spray can. ^^

Looking around at the kits I have, 1/100 Gundam Dynames seems to be a good one to work on at this point - mainly because I've been putting it off for too long already. ^^;

Already done with 1/100 Gundam Exia earlier this year, I suppose I should continue along that line and try to get the other three Meisters' Gundams in 1/100 scale done within this year as well. Even though there's no intention to follow any sort of order, Gundam Dynames is a natural choice after Gundam Exia since it's not too complicated in terms of functionality and gimmicks as compared to Gundam Kyrios and Gundam Virtue. Its sniper sensor on the forehead, folding shields and GN Pistols with holsters would give it a few gimmicks more than Gundam Exia.

Perhaps it's unintentional on the designer's side, but it seems to me that the number of gimmicks incorporated also equals the amount of work needed in terms of painting the kit to make it accurate to the construction manual. ^^; The lesser gimmicks incorporated, the lesser painting required for the various parts, vice versa. By that token, Gundam Dynames, as with Gundam Exia would be much easier to work on as compared to Gundam Kyrios and Gundam Virtue, especially the latter. ^^; That's how I feel looking at reviews on these four kits on other websites. I'll keep this claim open, and once I work on the transformable Gundam and the "bipolar" one (XD), I'll be able to know for sure its validity. ^^

For now, since I'm working on another kit at the same time, a Master Grade some more, I'll just pick the easiest one out of the three to do first. ^^

Introduction of the kit on the box sides.

Content.

Nicely done illustration for the manual, and just like the one for Gundam Exia, Gundam Dynames is shown in combat not with its main designated weapon as well.

Huge difference between the designs as seen in the anime and for this 1/100 scale Gunpla version done by Kanetake Ebikawa.

Promo leaflet for Dengeki Hobby's limited runner to convert HG 1/144 Gundam Exia into Gundam Astraea, which came out in one particular issue in late 2007 (kind of tells you how old I've been keeping this kit ^^;). Another one is about environmental awareness in Japan.

A look at the different runners:

Runner A - Multi-color runner that contains parts for various components ranging from the body, knee joints, clear parts for the GN Drive, rear thrusters and others.

The clear parts are already painted in green using normal highlighter.

Runner B - Contains parts mainly for the legs.

Unlike Gundam Exia, it's back to the old ball-type joint for the hip joint for Gundam Dynames. ^^;

Runner C - Contains most of the green armor parts for the main body.

Runner D - Except for two parts meant for the rear thrusters, the other eight on this runner are for the large shoulder shields.

Very large part for each of the armor plates. ^^

Runner E - Contains parts mainly for the arms and head.

Runner F - Contains parts mainly for the weapons.

Two parts snap together to form the rifle, so each part is conceivably pretty long.

Runner G - the only ABS runner in this kit where most of the parts are joints for the shoulder armors.

Other collective runners: polycap set PC-116, Runner H for the GN Stripes and beam saber parts.

Foil sticker

All removed parts are organized and stored in individual paper containers.

The entire segment holding the clear parts are separated from the rest of the content.

Will return to MG Shin Musha Gundam after this, but after the round of spray can gold on those targeted parts, I'll be returning to work on some parts from Gundam Dynames. ^^

the 1/100 can make much cooler poses due to the availability of its GN Pistols. But then it receives too short film time as compared to Cherudim in the second season.
