Adding in more paints to selected parts from System Base 001, after starting off with silver in the previous posting. ^^
Minor screw-like details on all the parts are painted gold using Gaia Metallic Color No. 122 Star Bright Gold.
The rings of the connector pieces are painted using the same gold paint. The parts' bottom edges are completely painted as well, to make sure the color is being presented accurately in all angles of display.
The pipe details on the side panel parts are painted gold as well.
The fixed wires on the side panel parts are painted red using Mr. Color No. 158 Super Italian Red Gloss.
Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black) is (re)applied to the molded details of the painted parts as the quickest mean to cover up some of the minor spilled over paints. ^^
The border, or slightly sunken gaps between the connecting platform pieces is painted black using normal marker.
Test fitting the platform parts to see how the painted gaps would look like when assembled.
The black paint improves the visibility of the gaps on the entire platform. ^^
(Left) Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black) is used to reveal the gap between the pipes on the connector piece.
(Right) Excessive panel liner paint is wiped away using cotton swab soaked with enamel thinner.
The sunken areas beneath the pipes on either side of the connector part is painted black using normal marker.
Instead of giving the targeted area a color, the black paint serves as highlight the gold and silver paint work done on the pipes. ^^
Some of the more prominent line details on the main base are redrawn using a normal panel liner.
Excessive gold, silver, and red paints on various parts are scratched away using a sharpened toothpick.
Panel lines are added to some of the parts as well.
Tiny protruding dots molded on some of the parts are painted gold using normal pen.
The "armrest" part on the side panel have sunken bars that are shown to be in silver on the box art.
Like many other details on the entire base, the bars serve as mere decorations I believe. ^^;
(Left) Panel lines are added to the molded details on the "armrest" part first.
(Right) The sunken bars are realized using leftover foil stickers from other Gunplas.
The rest of the parts have their more visually prominent molded details redrawn using normal panel liner as well.
Excessive panel liner paint on the weapon mount rack parts is wiped away using cotton swab soaked with enamel thinner.
Painting and detailing are relatively simple when compared to the putty work done on the fixed hydraulic pipes in Parts 2, and 3. ^^ Anyway, all the parts will be kept in its box for a while before the final assembly. ^^
