Starting the swing back and forth between my MSIA and Robot Damashii versions of Gundam Exia. ^^
First released last August and scheduled to be reissued this coming October, I don't think I would call Robot Damashii [Side MS] Gundam Exia an old release. It's considerably new in the lineup, as well as its design. As you will see in later postings, the articulation design is quite a breakthrough for a Gundam action figure, and I believe the influence is still around today for newer Robot Damashii [Side MS] releases.
A look at the packaging first. As compared to the MSIA version, I think the design is very simple and pretty much straight-to-the-point. All the images of Gundam Exia on the packaging are that of the figure itself, and they are exactly the ones disclosed as the promo photos of the figure before it was out.
Somehow, I get the feeling that the box art design is the last point of attraction that Tamashii Nation would emphasize to get people to buy this figure. That goes to show how confident they are in the quality of the figure itself. As a matter of fact, the entire Robot Damashii series follows such simplistic design, with just changes to the colors and some other minor details.
The details behind the box.
Opening the box from the side, just like the MSIA version.
A silver "backdrop" for the plastic tray plus the instruction manual.
Instruction manual shows how the beam sabers and daggers are to be attached to their mount racks, how to pull out the GN Drive for the Burst mode and how to swap the V-Fin.
The content - somewhat similar to that of the MSIA version ? ^^
Next up: the content and some basic features of MSIA Gundam Exia.
