Random (135)

Gundam, mecha, and figurines in Singapore (and Bangkok)

Even though March 10 (Tuesday) was technically the last day of my stay in Singapore, I didn't think it count since I had to fly back very early that morning. For that matter, March 9 (Monday) was really the last day I spent walking around and visiting various places in Singapore.

And the day was spent visiting many hobby stores that I know of close to my hotel. ^^

Instead of talking about just the stores I visited on Monday, this posting will be a compilation of the many I managed to snapped some pictures of throughout my trip in Singapore. ^^

Otaku Tachi in Sunshine Plaza

Hobby Art Gallery, also in Sunshine Plaza.
Closed every Monday though. ^^;

It was still a treat seeing the many professionally built and painted Gunplas on display behind the glass windows in front of the store. ^^

Let's Play in Sunshine Plaza.

M Workshop, in Sunshine Plaza as well.

A completed Lego 10221 Super Star Destroyer on display at Bricks World, Suntec City Mall.

Hobby Point, Bras Basah Complex.

Simply Toys in Bugis Junction.

Life-size statues of Iron Man Mark 42 and Star Wars Stormtrooper (with an umbrella XD) guarding the entrance of Simply Toys. ^^

RoboRobo, Excelsior Shopping Centre.

Large scale table top miniature diorama on display at Battle Bunker, Funan DigitaLife Mall.

One of the many cabinets of figurines on display outside La Tendo, Funan DigitaLife Mall. ^^

Omocha Mura Toy Village & Cafe, Jurong East.
Even though it's more of a cafe instead of a toy store, you can buy the items on display at here. ^^

This is of course not the complete list of toy store in the areas I visited in Singapore. There are many places I visited but didn't take any photos of - BHG in Bugis Junction, OG in Albert Complex, and many other departmental stores do carry Gunplas, Transformers action figures and other toys, not to mention the dozens of stores in China Square Central have a wide selection of collectibles to feast your eyes upon, and to drain the wallets of those who are weak-willed in resisting the spending temptation. XD

Generally, I do find that there are more specialized hobby stores in Singapore as compared to Bangkok. Besides Fantasia and Yumeya, I didn't really see that many Gunplas and other toys available when I was walking around in Bangkok.

Nevertheless, there were some on display. ^^

Large-sized statue of LBX Achilles, and other LBX model kits on display in Siam Paragon, Rama I Road.

Plenty of high-end figurines and 1/6 scale figures on display at Toys Station in Terminal 21, Sukhumvit Road, but the store itself was closed when I visited it on 2 March.
