HGUC Unicorn Gundam [Unicorn Mode] Part 3

No line? Make line

Continuing with the work on HGUC Unicorn Gundam [Unicorn Mode] after the previous posting. ^^

From the previous posting, all the right arm's parts were already panel lined using Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Gray).
Excessive panel liner paint is wiped off using cotton swab soaked in enamel thinner.

Two shallow lines on the bottom panels of the shoulder armor pieces always get wiped off entirely by the cotton swab. Some effort beyond panel liner needs to be applied in order to get the two lines. ^^

Using double-sided tape pieces as makeshift "ruler", two cuts are made on the shallow lines using a pen knife. The cuts are not really meant to create deeper lines on the parts actually. Any "artificial" line made on PS parts can catch paint very easily, which is a troublesome matter in normal cases. ^^; I'm turning that weakness into an intended action for the shoulder armor parts. ^^

The cuts highlighted using Tamiya's gray panel liner solution.
The lines are somewhat light as you can see, which look fitting for their actual appearance as line details of non-transformable parts.

Test fitting the parts to see how the shoulder armor would look like when they are assembled. ^^

Detailing work done for the right arm's parts.

Detailing work done for the left arm's parts as well.

The same simple trick is repeated to get the two lines on the left shoulder armor parts.

From the previous posting, all the waist's parts that were already panel lined using Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Gray).

The connected front skirt armor joints are split so that each piece can move independently on the completed model.

All the vent areas are painted black using normal panel liner.

As the entire rear skirt armor is molded in white, part of it that connects to the hip should be in gray I believe.

The targeted area is painted using Tamiya Color Acrylic Paint Mini XF-53 Neutral Grey.

With excessive gray paint scratched away using a knife.

Since it looks more fitting as the mecha component rather than armor, the hip portion on the thigh parts are painted gray using the same bottle paint as well (right image).

The hip areas are panel lined black using a normal marker. The white armor parts are done using Tamiya Panel Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Gray).

Test fitting the parts to see how the thigh would look like when they are assembled. ^^

After this round of work, only parts that form the legs and head remain. ^^
