Looks like I'll be closing out the year for my blog with the review on ZCGirl's 1/6 Sniper Muriel Black Ver. ^^
A few more action poses to start off this final posting for Muriel:
Supported using a wire stand meant for Gunplas.
Against better judgement, I raised the jacket hood over Muriel's head to get this "infiltration" pose, which messed up her hairdo. ^^;
Her hair was combed again after this pose. ^^;
Comparison with Hot Toys' Jill Valentine BSAA Ver., who was mentioned back in Part 1 when I was talking about my experience with 1/6 scale action figure. ^^ Jill's figure box was featured as comparison to Muriel's as well. ^^
Besides the obvious similarities in scale, product nature (action figure), and actual fabric used for their costume, there are plenty other points that connect between Muriel and Hot Toys' Jill Valentine BSAA Ver.. ^^ Both have large sniper rifle included as part of their armament list, realistic human-like face sculpt and detailing, and the ability to carry lots of other weapons, spare magazines, and other equipments on their gears, with those option parts themselves designed with tons of gimmicks . ^^
Also, if you are adamant about Muriel's character connection with Meryl Silverburgh from the "Metal Gear" video game franchise (see Part 1), that would mean that she can be considered a video game character as well, just like Jill Valentine who is from Capcom's Resident Evil series. ^^
Then again, in terms of posability, Muriel is much more flexible than Jill, as evidenced by the few separate postings focusing on her action poses. ^^ Jill's articulation limitation is primarily due to her tight fitting costume, which was designed accurately according to her in-game character setting. I bought the figure for liking that beautiful character image, so I'm certainly not going to fault Jill's weaknesses in her articulation design now, when compared to Muriel. I still like this Hot Toys' Jill Valentine very much, and honestly speaking, since I got Muriel for almost the same reason as Jill, I would be perfectly fine with her if she didn't turn out to be such a posable figure. ^^ That amazing playability as seen on Muriel turns out to be a huge bonus to me. ^^
Comparison between the two sniper rifles:
Muriel's CheyTac M200 Intervention versus Jill Valentine's Heckler & Koch PSG-1.
Muriel's rifle is not just longer, but evidently much bigger as well. ^^
As you may expect, Muriel can be posed using Jill Valentine's Heckler & Koch PSG-1. ^^
Comparison between the figures' sidearms:
Muriel's Desert Eagle versus Jill Valentine's Beretta PX4 Storm.
While Desert Eagle is bigger, Beretta PX4 Storm is designed with more gimmicks, which made it more outstanding. ^^
Interestingly, comparing between the two types of weapons, Muriel's CheyTac M200 Intervention is designed with way more gimmicks (see Part 2) than Jill Valentine's Heckler & Koch PSG-1, which has the least playability among all of the latter's included weapons. On the other hand, when it comes to their sidearms, Muriel's Desert Eagle is basically a single fixed part, while the various functional gimmicks on Jill Valentine's Beretta PX4 Storm made it a much more complex option weapon, especially considering its small size. ^^
In terms of number, Jill Valentine wins with her equipment list - she comes with more weapons she can carry. XD As for Muriel on the other hand, there are additional space for fake extra dummy details even after all of her option parts are loaded onto her military gear. XD
Comparison aside, the two girls look amazing when posed together. ^^
Overall, ZCGirl's 1/6 Sniper Muriel Black Ver. is a very beautiful action figure with surprisingly flexible posability. ^^ The figure's face sculpt and detailing, as well as her slim, busty bodyline realized using ZCGirl's "EVE" body are very beautiful, which can definitely be appreciated as one of her attractions ^^ Her military gear, weapons, accessories, and other option parts are very fun to play with as well, with many of them featuring designs that are clearly based off some actual products. ^^ The flexibility in her military gear's displays, coupled with the details of her large weapons, and of course the amazing posability mentioned over and over again, you can certainly get plenty of awesome action poses out of Muriel. ^^
A beautiful female figure in large 1/6 scale + large sniper rifle + plenty of action poses. What more should be added to this winning formula? XD With Muriel, I'm certainly closing out this year for my blog well. ^^
