HG 1/144 Build Strike Gundam Full Package Part 6

Saving the hardest for last

The last round of work on High Grade 1/144 scale Build Strike Gundam Full Package after the previous posting. ^^

Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black) is used to panel line the delicate molded details of the Build Booster and shoulder vents.

Excess panel liner solution inside the vents is carefully rubbed away using cotton swab soaked with thinner.
Additional detailing is done using normal panel liner.

Test fitting the painted parts to see how the shoulder armor would turn out when assembled. ^^

Given their small size and blue molded color, the front vents on top of Build Booster's body are painted black using normal marker to give them a more obvious look.

Re-panel lined the launchers' parts using a combination of normal panel liner and Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black).

The tiny sunken spots on the rear end and muzzle points of the launchers are painted black using normal marker.

Minor panel lining on the two handles.
Instead of the tiny line details, the result of the red paint work (Part 2) is the real focus here. ^^

Normal panel lining for the rest of Build Booster's body parts.

The slits of the fuselage's vents are detailed using Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black) as they are too narrow to be reached by the tip of my normal panel liner.

Saving the hardest for last: refinement work for the parts painted in white (from Part 3). ^^;
Detailing parts painted in white is always challenging, as any mistake during the process may result in the need to repaint the affected areas. ^^;

Excess white paint spilled over the edges of the supporting wings' opening is scratched away using a knife.

The smooth result of the opening area. ^^
The interior should be painted black to emulate depth, but I didn't do so to avoid thickening the space and hindering the supporting wings from expanding/collapsing properly.

The molded details on the top side of the parts are done using a normal panel liner.

The vent area of the wing connector parts is painted black using normal marker.

The reinforced beam rifle parts are carefully detailed using normal panel liner. ^^

(Left) Foil sticker pieces from my spare sticker collection to be improvised for the three pair of the sunken spots on the rifle's barrel when the kit is assembled in the future.
(Right) The muzzle points are painted black using normal panel liner.

The "toothbrush" bits on the V-fins and secondary fins are to be chipped off using nippers.

The cut areas are smoothed using paper file.

The head parts are panel lined using a combination of normal panel liner and Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black).

With excess panel liner solution inside the vents rubbed away using cotton swab soaked with thinner.

The sunken interior of the front and rear sensors should be painted black according to the instruction manual.

The targeted area is painted using normal panel liner.

The four Vulcans are painted gray using Gundam Marker.

(Left) The edge of the eye area is highlighted using normal black marker.
(Right) The forehead area of the helmet parts is also painted black to give it more depth when it's completed later on.

All done for the head's detailing work. ^^

With that, the work for this High Grade kit is completed. ^^

Having the prior understanding that most of the runners would be reused for HGCE Aile Strike Gundam, the amount of paint work required for the entire kit didn't surprise me from the beginning, especially since the work that seemed the heaviest are components unique to Build Strike Gundam, including the reinforced rifle, shoulders, arms and ankle guards.

For the Build Booster, since it was also intended to be released as an individual pack, which is meant to be used with/customized for other High Grade kits, having just one molded color for the entire support unit is understandable as well I guess. Still, that doesn't change the fact that a lot of paint work was applied to realize the designated color scheme for the support unit. ^^;

As usual, there'll be a bit of offset time between now and when I revisit all the parts again for the final assembly. ^^
