Technically, this is only the second posting in this entire review series that is actually true to the model's name of "Duel Gundam Assault Shroud". ^^ And it's going to be its last.
The Assault Shroud configuration poses some serious limitation to the arms, unfortunately. Restricted by the extra front and rear shoulder pieces, Duel Gundam's own blue side armor's articulation range has been reduced to zero, and because that armor is now immobile, the arm's ability to bend upward from the side becomes limited as well. When the shield is added to the side of the forearm, bending the arm from the side is practically impossible. ^^; Some of those beam saber poses seem a lot less "energetic", ^^; as the arm cannot be lifted beyond the limitation point of the shoulder armor. However, as you can see from some of the pictures at the beginning of this posting, movement for the left arm is still possible, with the articulation comes from the rotation of the shoulders and bending of the elbow and upper arm.
The front skirt armor is a special story. Because of a fairly large gap between it and the thigh, the armor doesn't restrict the movement of the latter at all. ^^ As a matter of fact, you can move the leg forward for a wide degree and it won't even touch the skirt armor. ^^ And because of the gap as well, the armor would often fold inward. Instead of being annoyed by that, I often find that to be rather amusing. ^^
Although the ankle guard is fixed on the leg armor, it's already bent upward for quite a large degree and doesn't limit the movement of the feet at all, which is a very good design as well.
Another meeting with Kira Yamato as depicted in the anime:
Another life-changing moment for Yzak there I would say.
Definitely not the best Gunpla by today's standards, but it's a great reminiscence of 1/100 scale Gunplas from the old days. ^^
Not the oldest in my collection definitely, the 4 "Gundam Wing Endless Waltz" kits I got last year will be a totally different experience I suppose XD
