Lego Adventure: Technic Quad Bike Part 3

Not meant for mere display

A closer look at the just completed Lego Technic No. 9392 Quad Bike. ^^

A summary of all the model's gimmicks. ^^
Video clip is from Youtube. Follow this link to the website if you can't see anything.

In terms of display, Lego Technic sets are of a completely different category as compared to Lego Creator. ^^ The combination of frames, rods and connector pins mostly in black and gray may not be as visually attractive to folks who are used to more colorful models with more solid appearances I think. ^^; As compared to the previous Technic set I assembled - No. 8045 Mini Telehandler, there are a lot more details to be found on this Quad Bike, so in this size range, Quad Bike can be considered a more interesting model in the Technic series to look at, even though it's not that great looking anyway. ^^;

So, playability through its mechanical gimmicks is the real emphasis of Quad Bike. The very realistic suspension system is very fun to play with, even though the bottom of the vehicle that would hit the surface too soon when the suspension is engaged is a slight disappointment. ^^; I actually like the less promoted linked movement between the rear wheels and the chain, gears and engine piston more. ^^ I realize the movement can be easily accomplished since there are four gears in total for that component, but I just find it to be really fun seeing how those parts interact and move together. ^^

On the subject of playability, ... ^^

With Figma Drossel.

The bike is obviously too big for the princess, ^^; but since her hands can reach for the handlebar, I suppose the bike can be given a pass to become her personal ride. ^^
That's an achievement really, since Creator No. 4993 Cool Convertible is totally incompatible with the princess. ^^;

With MG Gundam AGE-1 Normal.

Looks like the bike is a great match for this Gunpla. XD

Even the legs have enough room to be retracted and stored nicely on the bike for a natural looking pose XD

Will try out the alternate model of this Lego set - a race buggy in the future. ^^
