1/100 Zaku Warrior Blaze Wizard & Gunner Wizard Part 12 [Final]

The Zaku IIs

The last posting for 1/100 scale Zaku Warrior with Blaze Wizard and Gunner Wizard packs already. ^^

More action poses from this green guy first XD

The beam ax being my favorite weapon for this kit is featured in various action poses, perhaps just as prominently as those in the previous posting I believe. ^^

While I really like the MS and Gunpla design of this Zaku Warrior, I do recognize that it didn't age well. ^^; Beneath that fierce look (subjective to viewing interpretation XD), some weaknesses like poor part separation resulting in tons of glaring seam lines and poor color distribution forcing a lot of paint work to be done for the model's intended color scheme to be realized are pretty off-putting. ^^; Still, for a 3,000-Yen (exclusive of tax) kit that comes with two large weapon packs plus pretty decent posability for the completed model, it's actually quite a good deal in my opinion.

With tons of brand new and re-releases of Gunplas from "Gundam SEED" as the anime series gets its HD Remaster treatment this year, including Master Grade releases, I really hope that two years from now when it's the 10th Anniversary of "Gundam SEED Destiny", a Master Grade version of Zaku Warrior will be announced. ^^ By then, who knows what kind of "sorcery" Bandai could come up with for that Gunpla line, but more Zaku is always welcomed on my book. ^^

With MG Force Impulse Gundam:

Also, just for the fun of it, a comparison of Zaku Warrior with its ancestor from another universe: ^^

With MG Zaku II Ver. 2.0.

Zaku Machine Gun versus beam rifle

Heat Hawk versus beam ax

Right shoulder shield versus left shoulder shield.

With Zaku Warrior, it's very obvious that this newer "re-imagined" version of Zaku II is a lot sleeker and closer to a Gundam in terms of proportion design. The earlier characteristic might not be that distinguishable on MG Zaku II Ver. 2.0 because arguably, that Master Grade Ver. 2.0 kit had already been redesigned to "slim down" and "rectify" the original Zaku II's very rounded and bulky look. ^^; When the Zaku II from the first anime is featured as comparison with Zaku Warrior, I'm very sure the differences between the two would be so much more clearer. ^^

Somehow, Lightning Base Plate Type Green Ver. seems like the perfect complimentary base for Zaku Warrior XD

Looking at green is good for your eyes, but I doubt that here. XD
