Keropla Pururu Chief Medic Part 1

Time for something of great ease again

The completion of 1/100 Gundam Kyrios reminded me to work hard on old kits that are mountaining in whichever spot in my room with some space to fit them (very "intense" ^^;). This next kit on the list isn't exactly the oldest on the queue, but it's definitely something that I can complete straight away, just like BB Senshi Sangokuden Giga Taifu Shiba-I Sazabi, and in an obvious manner, it's a kit that is very different from all the ones I did in the past. ^^

Keropla Pururu Chief Medic from "Keroro Gunsou" (obviously) ^^

Not a big fan of the Keropla series (even though I really love the anime ^^), I think this is the second Keropla I got, after God Keron. I bought it right away when it was out in 2009, and I must admit that the purchase reasons were simply the cute look of the character and the seemingly fun assembly. ^^ The price is the same as all the regular BB Senshi Sangokuden kits released at that time (600 Yen exclusive of tax), so I really didn't think much before getting her right away. ^^

Introduction of the kit on the sides of the box.

On a not so related note, released not too long after Pururu Chief Medic in the same year was 1/1 HoiHoi-san from Kotobukiya, and that "unleashes" a whole series of cutesy characters in model kit format, which is still ongoing now I believe. ^^ I believe Kotobukiya's 1/1 HoiHoi-san is the first association of moe and model kit for many people, but it's Keropla Pururu Chief Medic that started that for me. ^^

Content.

A way smaller package of runners as compared to some of the recent kits I worked on lately. ^^

A look at the few runners of this kit:

Runner A1 - A multi-color runner that contains mainly parts for the body, eyes and syringe.

(Left) Separated parts for the eyes, allowing mix and match of various eye expressions on Pururu.
(Right) Large clear pink parts for the syringe.

Runner A2 - Another multi-color runner (that is molded together with Runner A1 before separated for packaging) that contains parts mainly for the head.

Runner B - A runner that is generic to the entire Keropla series, containing a body frame part with molded joints for its limbs, and parts for the display stand.

Rear view of Runner B.

The molded joints on the body frame and display stand.

Paper sticker sheet, not foil sticker sheet is another feature of the Keropla line.

Since the total number of parts is few with just a tiny bit of painting required (which is optional anyway), all the parts are removed from their runners right away with no paper box required to organize them. ^^

All the parts.

Parts for Pururu.

Parts for the syringe and optional items.

That's the great thing about model kits meant for younger fans - they are so much easier to build, but can be equally fun at the same time. ^^

The assembly of Pururu will be featured in the next posting. ^^
